Just when you thought...

That the 76SOG was a gaming clan for first person shooters and jet setting Dutchmen, I turn up to set the record straight. We do indeed enjoy a large FPS presence (ahem) and at least one jet setting Dutchman but we also have have a decent Guildwars following and Guild, The Fist of Oppression [FIST].

The Guild is by and large a PvE one, but we do very occasionally delve into the darker waters of PvP. We are fun and multi-lingual (english and gibberish) bunch and play most nights, Thursday being our main day/night/time so if you fancy joining up or just doing a few quests look out for players with a black and white cape with the gold phoenix on it. We are mainly involved in Factions at present but have Prophecies characters as well.

Well that's pretty much all I've gotta say for this (my) first post. Check out the slightly more interesting Jet setting Dutchman below.

BF2142 Goes Gold:::

EA and DICE are pleased to announce that Battlefield 2142 has gone gold. Meaning that after months of internal testing and balancing, the game has been handed over to the quality assurance team for final testing.

Excellent news for anybody like me, who is gagging to get there hands on the full, final version. So does this mean that EA / Dice have no excuses for not getting it released intime for my birthday?. I doubt it, but then again i will be far too wasted to switch on a PC, let alone play anything. and i dont wanna get my K/D ratio of to a bad start by being under the influence.

Anyway, here is a message from the head dude @ some company that has somthing to do with BF2142..... yes i have done my research well.... and no i havent just nicked this from somewhere else......

A Message from the Battlefiled 2142 Senior Producer, Marcus Nilsson

As the beta tests for BF 2142 have finished, on behalf of everyone at DICE I wanted to personally thank you for your help with the development of the game. We gave you a mission, and you delivered above and beyond what we could have hoped for. Thanks to your hard work, we've already made over 3000 bug fixes and very many changes to BF 2142, and we continue to fine-tune the game based on your feedback. Some of the forum traffic we've read has asked what fixes we are making, and while there isn't room to list all of the changes, your feedback made us make some major changes to Titan shield layout as well as adding death material to the outside shield, killing people trying to just sit and wait for shield to go down. These changes plus more around the Titan is making the fights even more intense and rewarding.

We have also, based directly on your feedback from both rounds of the Tuning Beta made a number of gameplay changes. The Support class's Machine Guns now overheat slower and cool down quicker when not firing. The Doragon and Talon gunships have received an increase in maneuverability to allow for better dogfights. Additionally, all Recon class's sniper rifles have had their sway substantially reduced and are able to be equipped with a more effective Gruber 5 Stabilizer. Finally, the heavy body armor now absorbs less damage from incoming projectiles, effectively increasing the power of all weapons against heavily armored opponents.

The end result is that when BF 2142 releases next month, we are confident it will be a great experience. We continue to work toward the goal we have had all along in the development cycle, which is to make BF 2142 the best BF release ever.

Corpse Humping..... The Kids Love It:::

In an online FPS game, to stand over the warm corpse of your opponent and repeatedly squat up and down in a display of dominance. This activity is usually accompanied by screaming something such as "You are owned, biach! How do you like that shit, fucker! Huh! Huh!" Ideally, this childish display of bravado ends abruptly with a sniper shot to the humpers head.

Now Halo gets the credit for the CH phenomena but it goes further back than that.
My first ever experience of Corpse Humping came when playing Counter Strike on a friends 56k modem connection, and yes i was a regular ingame "bike" that night.
After the initial shock of having my digital representation "shagged" by what was probably a 14yr old from Belgium, i decided it was worth a try. My very next kill got the nailing of its life, "crouch - uncrouch - crouch - uncrouch" "oh yeah n00b get some". as it turned out, it was a TKill and my added celebration promptly got us ushered from the server.... oh well.

Used as a taunt or an added insult... or most of the time... both, getting CH cuts deeper. Full riots have taken place in Counter Strike servers due to the wrong dude getting digitally humped. And with games that have an added Prone position, i.e Battlefield 2, this action gets rather too intimate, but its still funny as hell and beats any possible verbal putdown. The following isnt actually BF2 but its very good and shows just the exact technique i am talking about.

Corpse Humping, A Proffesionals Guide

With the release of BF2142 barely a month away... (hopefully), i have decided to rekindle my love affair with humping dead pixelated soldiers and futuristic ones will just makes it more interesting, like having your GF dress up in a sheep costume, (so a friend tells me).

One of the latest features of the BF series is the addition of "dogtags", every player has them,
and if you gut a player with the knife, you get to take his (or her) dogtags, which then get displayed on your profile page. PC Format reckons this will help stop the grusome practice of CHumping, well all i can say to that is "not feckin likley mate" i am planning to hump some poor fecker withing the first round of my first ever game and get the proof!. here to Corpse Humping!

New Clan Site Preview:::

With the release of BF2142 drawing ever closer, its time to get geared up and ready for some serious "tactically staying still within headshot range of the opposition spawn point". little bastards!.. EVERYBODY DIES!!!

anyway, The BF2142 team here @ Clan 76SOG will have a new information and download site. This is mostly just for the sake of having a site, but all relevant downloads for BF2142 will also be available from here and it will act as a first contact point for new recruits. Maybe!

Space will also be available for a future Guild Wars site to be added, and area's for any game's that the clan play. This could possibly be done by creating a general clan front page, with Guild Wars campaign selector style portals, but that is for the future. The final URL for the new clan site will be posted here and in the forum as soon as i get it sorted.

And It Begins:::

well here we are... the start of the 76SOG clan blog.
this hopefully will turn out good and be a sort of run down of clan events, and the best of the clan forum news turned into story form... also whenever i feel like smashing my pc because some fekin kid has been spawn camping, or a bastard in a heli has constantly ruined my own style of spawn camping, then instead of smashing in my neigbours door and setting fire to his pets, ill just write about it here.

i didnt really set fire to his pets.....
